About:China Visa

China passport + USA permanent resident = cannot re-enter china after a weekend trip to Taiwan?

I am a USA permanent resident and china's citizen (have china passport). I am currently visiting my hometown in china mainland, but planning on making a weekend trip to Taiwan to visit relatives. I was told (by the travel agency when I tried to apply for a Taiwan visa), that I am not allowed to leave china and I cannot apply for a Taiwan visa.

They told me if I left China, I am not allowed to return because I hold an us resident card. Can someone please explain this rule to me? I cannot even make a short weekend trip to visit my relatives?

Hi, you need to apply for an Exit & Entry Permit in US if you have permanent residence there. What your travel agency said is right.

Thanks Lori.

So what should I do next? If I am already in China.. is there a place I can go to get my Taiwan Visa? We have a family reunion next week and I've already booked a ticket. The Exit & Entry Permit is for China, Taiwan or USA??

Hi you'd better confirm this with another travel agency first. As I know, you can only able to apply for a taiwan visa in person in USA.
