About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Transit through Chinese International and Domestic Airports.

We want to travel from Japan to Nepal. The flight goes from Japan > Shanghai > Kunming > Nepal. Will we need a transit visa for part of this trip if we don't leave the airports and have flight reservations all the way to Nepal? I have US citizenship, the other traveler has Nepali citizenship.

If you will transit at two airports in China, you'd better apply for a transit visa in advance. Or you can confirm this with your air company.
