What are the requirements for a business travel?

I need to travel to supervise the production of some materials we are producing in Guangzhou. I am a Kenyan citizen but based in Lagos, Nigeria. I will be traveling back for the Christmas holidays and would like to apply for the visa from your Nairobi Embassy? Is this possible?
