Is this a direct transit via international flight? If yes, you are visa exempted from visa procedure, and you are allowed to stay for 72 hours in shanghai.

I contacted you yesterday and said I was going to spend 69 hours in Shanghai on my way home from Australia. You said I did not require a Visa if " this is a direct transit via international fight". What is a " direct transit via international flight" ?

Hi, that measn if you have international flight ticket from Canada to Australia, but the flight will stopover at Shanghai for 69 hours as a transit, then visa is not required and you can stay in Shanghai without visa. Otherwise, you have to apply for a transit G in advance.
