Canadian mother visting son working in China

For 2 weeks in April 2013, I will be visting my Canadian son who recently began work in China. I may be living with him in his home so I will have no hotel reservations. Is a letter of invitation acceptable from him?
Please advise me of my responsibilities. Thank you.

Yes, if you will visit yoru son and stay at his home, you may provide copies of his certificate, his residecen permit in China and passport and invitation from him stating that you will stay with him, then no need to provide any hotel reservation.
