i am a nigerian currently visiting my wife in burundi. she holds a valid z visa

can I accompany her to china if her company sends me a duly authorized invitation. Also can I apply in Burundi ?My wife tells me that upon arrival in China , I can have the Z visa changed into a family visa for the duration of her work permit. Kindly confirm.

You can't apply for the visa in Burundi as a visitor, but you may have a try in Hk.  By the way, no need to change your Z visa to family visa after your enter China, since the two are almost the same for you.
