About:Chinese Embassy in Canada

From Dubai to Canada with layover in Kunming(1.5hr) and in Pudong Shanghai(2.5hrs). Do we need visa?

We are Filipinos bound to Canada from Dubai with stopover in Kunming airport for 1.5hrs, then to Pudong Shanghai for 2.5hours. Do we need a transit visa? Note that we will just stay inside the airport. The airline is China Eastern Air. Travel date is march 2013. Thanks

If you will not leave the airport, visa is not required. But since you will transit in two cities in China, you need to apply for a stay permit when you arrive at Kunming airport.

we will have only 1.5hr of stopover in kunming airport, would that be enough time to get stay permit? or we can just board for the next flight to Shanghai? In shanghai, we will have 2 hours and 40minutes stopover for the next flight for vancouver. Appreciate your answer.

I don't think you need to apply for a stay permit for the shor stop in the Chinese airports. Please confirm with your air company for this. Wish you a good journey!
