Multiple entry business visa

Dear sir/madam,
I already have a single entry visa through an invitation from a Chinese company.
What I want to know is wether I can apply for a multiple entries once I'm in China?
Applying for a visum through the company takes so much time and costs a lot more.
I have read somewhere that it's possible to renew in mainland China.
