Is this trip to Beijing a direct transit? or you have separate flight tickets? if the former, you are not required visa. Otherwise, you have to apply for a visa in advance in HK through airlines or travel agency if you are now living in Taiwan.

We have separate flight tickets. Now we are in Russia.
We will be in Taiwan for one week for Misical Festival. And we will go back to home through Beijin. In Hong Kong we will be only half an hour. Thank you for help.

Then, does the ticket from HK to Russia stop via Beijing, or you have separate ticket from Beijing to Russia? If the latter, you can apply for a Chinese transit visa in Russia now. Application processing generally takes 4 working days, and it can be expedited with extra fee.
