About:Bao'en Temple Pagoda

How can my wife live with me in China?

I am curretntly Studying in china, need info on how to get a visa for my wife to live with me in China. What are the requirements, what needs to be done and what type of it does she need to obtain? Please advise me.

The correct type should be L for family visit. You need to send her the Notification letter through your school issued by relevant department; copies of your passport, student visa and temporary residence permit. Physical Examination Record is required as well if she plan to stay in China for more than 6 months. When necessary, financial support is required too.

Okay thank you. What notification letter do I need to obtain and how do I obtain this letter? Does this L family visit visa enable her to live with me in China for the duration of my studies, which is another 4 years?

You can ask help from your school for this letter. Anyway, this L is not enough to cover a stay for 4 years. But she can try to apply for a residence permit after entry, the permit that as I know can be extended annually.

Thank you. I will ask the school for the letter. After arrival in china she can obtain residence permit and do so annually? Any other requirements that I need to take into consideration?

What does the notification letter compose off? What should the school apply for if they need to or what type of letter should they compose? Do I have to send all these documents or the school? Should she use these documents to apply at Chinese consulate in my country? Apologies for the trouble, need all the info possible.

Hi Mike. the school knows clearly how to get this letter. She is able to apply for a visit visa for entry, and try to apply for extension or convertion to the residence permit with help of your school at local PSB. I am not sure if she will be granted of this permit since the officers there make the final decision case by case. This is apply to foreigners as well.
