About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Must the Invitation letter be issued by a Chinese?

I am planning to study in China in spring, but I am flying out more than a month earlier to be with my girlfriend, who has a working visa (Z). For this initial period, before term starts, I noticed I need a letter of invitation, and I am wondering whether my girlfriend can supply me with this invitation, or if it needs to come from a Chinese citizen?

Thanks

Do you mean you will visit China first for tourism before course? if yes, you can apply for a L visa. Invitation letter from your girlfriend is acceptable, make sure ask for copies of her passport, Z visa/work permit and residence permit as well.
