visa application for conference in hong kong

Question

I am a Pakistani student in Daegu. I have to participate in an academic conference to present my work in Hong Kong. Generally, how much is the processing time? I have a manual passport issued by Pakistan embassy in Seoul. So is it acceptable for application to Hong Kong. Also my older passport is machine readable. please guide.
