Chinese Working Visa processing in London

Hi there

I have a job offer working in Shanghai, China as English Teacher. My employer has posted me various documentation. I live quite a way from the Chinese Embassy in London, so can I obtain the working visa using post without having to travel to the embassy in London? I was okay with travelling to London but it takes four days to process it and I dont want to pay four days of accommodation in London?
