What do i need as to obtain a tourist visa to China.

I am a Nigerian, living and studying Tourism in spain ( University ) as a spanish resident, i would like to visit China during the first week of december or the middle week, can any one advice on the steps to take?. Do i obligatrely need an invitation letter from China?
