G trains from shanghai to Nanjing

We would like to take the fast G train for the above journey for a day visit. Leaving around 11.30 a.m
Can you tell me the time it will take on the train?
and if there is a tour we can pick up upon arrival to see the sights or is it possible to do this by metro by ourselves?
