from dongzhimen to beijing west railway station

Question

Hello, on Thu Nov 1, I need to catch a 8 PM train from the West Railway Station.  I will be leaving from Dongzhimen with luggage (one bag) plus carry on.  What would be the best route to take - train or bus or combination?  Is there place on Bus #2 for luggage?  Lastly, how early do I need to be at the train station for 8 PM train?  Thanks.

Well, you can take subway line 2 at Dongzhimen MTR Station and get off at Jianguomen Station. Then transfer to bus subway line 1 to Military Museum Station, where you can easily catch a direct bus to the West Railway Station directly. I do not know wjhat you are referrin to by No.2. Subway or bus no.2? Anyway, don't worry! You can surely get some space for your luggage. I suggest you arrive at the train station about 2h ahead.
