tourist visa requirements?

Question

If I am visiting a friend I just need One-way airline tix, letter of invitation and my friend's information correct?  Or do I need a hotel reservation and and round-trip tix?

besides, invitation letter, you also need copy of your friend's Chinese ID card or copiesof his/her passport and residence permit. If yor friend mentioned that you will stay at his/hers and your duration in China, then no the the hotel booking and return air ticket.
