Visa for quick visit to Shanghai

We are flying from Heathrow to Hong Kong in November for 3 days, then to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. We then fly to Shanghai to catch a flight home. We will be in Shanghai less than 48 hours. What is the visa situation? Presume we don't need one for HK? We are British passport holders. Jean

Yes, visa is not required to HK, but you need to apply for a China transit visa for Shanghai in advance from UK.
