december weather - good for wall?

Question

hey!a friend of mine (german) is coming to beijing to visit me. does it frequently gets below zero? i read that the sunshine does help a bit...additional: we want to go on the wall. i have been there in summer; is it a good idea and how might the temperature be differnt from city center?thanks!Markus

Hi, during Dec. most days will have the average temperature of -5 C. But you can also meet some days with the highest temperature of 7 C. In general, temperature below zero is common. To be honest, I do not think it is a good idea to visit the Great Wall, whichever Great Wall section it is. It can be colder than the city center. Take care!
