About:Chinese Embassy in Canada

enquiry for hong kong id card for children born outside of hong kong

I would like to know if i was born in hong kong and have a smart id card , can my children born in Canada, and under 18 apply for a hong kong id card as well even if we do not live in hong kong

Hi, your child needs to accumulate a minimum of 7 years of stay in HK in order to be eligible to apply for the ID card.
