Do the Chinese use MSG in their food like in the USA?

I would love to go to China, but I have been advised that they use this substance to enhance flavors, so I cannot eat food if MSG is used - terrible intestinal problems.

You are correct that the MSG can make the food more delicious so that many Chinese people add some as they cook. But when you go to a restaurant, you can tell the waiter to not add the MSG.
