About:Embassy & Consulate of South Africa in China

Registration with SA Embassy

I am a South African and recently moved to Shanghai on a work visa. I would like to know whether I am required to register with the South African Embassy, and if I do is there an online option to do so.

yes, you should register with your embassy. I don't think this can be done online. You can refer to http://www.saembassy.org.cn/consular.html for more information of South African consulate in Shanghai.
