I have a working visa here in Beijing - do I still need a travel permit for Tibet?

I live and work as a teacher in Beijing - do I still need a travel permit to go to Lhasa? Also, do you know an agency that could help me book the train ticket?

Hi Jim, you need to apply for a Tibet Entry permit through a travel agency at least one week before visiting. This Travel China Guide is an option for you, they handle the permit for visitors and also provide service to book train tickets.
