Visiting the Great Wall of China

I am planning on climbing the Great Wall closest to Beijing and want to know if there are hand rails at this section to assist with the climb and I have heard that it can be quite cool near the top so I would like to know if I need warmer clothes. I will be there the 2nd week on september. Thanks for your help.

But there is more than one section of Great Wall in Beijing and which one do you mean? Among them, the most well-known one is Badaling Great Wall.
As I know, there is no the hand rails as you mentioned, so yo need climb up by yourself. And it is not very hard. Furthermore, if you do not want to climb by yourself, the one-way or return cable car may help you a lot.
As for the temperature, it is not that cold. Since you are going to the Great Wall in the 2nd week of September, you can take along both short-sleeved shirt and long-sleeved shirt. In case of the sudden temperature falling, you can take a light coat. Anyway, no warm clothing is needed.
