early november drive chengdu to jiuzhaiou

we are planning 1st November 2012 10days holidays in Chengdu.... how is the weather then and are the roads safe for the scenic drive into jiuzhaigou?  What is implied by safe/unsafe? is it the state of the road surface or the weather affecting safety or the geogrphy of the land (ravines / narrow climbing roads..etc)???many thanks...

It will be cold during that time in Jiuzhaigou. The average temperature may be about 10C. It always has light rain. There are 2 road routes to jiuzhaigou from chengdu. For safety, you'd better choose the east rout as  Chengdu-Deyang-Mianyang-Jiangyou-Pingwu-Jiuzhaigou. The road condition may be affected by the bad weather. You need to pay attention to the weather forecast of Chengdu and Jiuzhaigou before travelling.
