About:Chinese Consulate in Chicago

No document to show Chinese ancestry

I was born in mainland China, arrived in US as youngster, and now holding US passport. I do not have Chinese govt issued documents. Can I use my Hong Kong elementary school diploma from 1961 which shows my Chinese ancestry as proof of my former Chinese nationality? What else must I do otherwise? Many Thanks.

Maybe your Hong Kong elementary school diploma will do, but the visa officers in USA have the final say to this. You'd better contact the visa office directly to make everythign clear before submit your application.
