My future Chinese mother-in-law just had surgery. What gift should I bring to her when I visit her?

Can you let me know what is the appropriate gift to give her?

Well, in my daily life, I will take boxes of milk or nourishments for when I go to visit the elder patients. But as for young people, just a bunch of flower is OK. If you want, you can take both of them
