About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

Working Visa pre-requisites

I am 62 years of age and I have an opportunity to work for my employer (Chevron) onshore in Nanba in support of the Oil & Gas Well Drilling and Completion Operations. I would be working as a Health & Saftey Advisor on a 28 day on X 28 day off roster and will be returning to my home in Australia for my days off each time.

I have many years experience in a similar position and I have a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. I am hearing that because I am 62 years of age that I will not be eligibel for a work visa as I do not have a degree.

Is the information I am receiving correct?

Perhaps, because your employer will be responsible to handle a work permit for your work visa application. Age and degree are within consideration by related department to issue this permit.
