Special arrangements for free-transit visa?

My wife and I are currently traveling in China and will leave the country via Shanghai Pudong Airport to go to South Africa. However, I have urgent business in Korea that I have to settle and will leave China before the intended date. I plan to return to China on the intended date we depart to South Africa, to meet my wife but I don't have a multiple entry visa.
Is it possible to go through immigration, claim my baggage, meet my wife and then immediately check in for our flight to South Africa together, without a visa? What arrangements do I have to make or who do I contact?

No, visa is required if you go through immigration in the airport. And this is even not a direct transit as well since your ticket is from Shanghai to South Africa, but not from Korea to South Africa via Shanghai. If you are now in China, you'd better go to local PSB to apply for an L visa extension with another entry. Make sure provide your explaination why you need it.
