Hi Cindy, there is no sample for invitation letter, please just make sure write it in Chinese or English with details as follows: your name, relationship between the you and your relatives, place of visit in China, duration of the stay, date of exit China, and the inviter's information such as name, address, telephone number.
BTW, for visa application, proof of the relationship, copies of your relative's passport, China visa, residence permit are required as well.

Proof of Relationship is NOT REQUIRED if the person you're inviting is only a friend... correct?
