New Requirements for Invitation Letter for Chinese Visa

From 15 July 2012 on, all invitation letters provided by the applicants who will apply for Chinese family visiting visa and business visa must meet the following requirements:
1) For visiting family, relative or friends purpose, the invitation letters should include following details:
(i)The applicant's personal details and relative information, including name, sex, date of birth, purpose of visiting China, arrival and departure date, places of visiting or stay in China, relationship with the inviter, evidence that he has access to adequate funds for his travel.
(ii)The inviter's name, contact detail, address.
A copy of inviter's ID or evidence of residence in China is also needed.
2) For business purpose, the invitation letters should include following details:
(i) The applicant's personal details and relative information, including name, sex, date of birth, purpose of visiting China, arrival and departure date, places of visiting or stay in China, his relationship with the host organization in China, evidence that he has access to adequate funds for his travel.
(ii) The name, contact detail, address of the host organization in China.
(iii) The stamp or signature of the host organization or the signature of the legal representative of the organization must be shown in the letter of invitation.
When it is needed, applicants may be requested an Invitation Letter of Duly Authorized Unit or Confirmation Letter of Invitation issued by the authorized Chinese unit (Chinese governmental departments, companies and organizations authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China).
