Question

Am a  srilankan Citizen planning to get married with my girlfriend (Chinese) in srilanka. Presently we are living in Uk ( We both are Students) and Am planning to move to srilanka next month with her for marriage. Do you know anything about the required documents for Marriage with foreigner in srilanka, As my girl friend is chinese. She doesnt have a Birth certificate, But she do posess a valid Passport and Chinese identity card as well. Can you please say the required documents and the procedure to apply for family visa to China there after marriage, Hope you can solve my Complication ;) Many Thanks. looking forward for a response from you (Fingers Crossed ;)). Hi, you may post in a wrong site, but as I know, birth certificate and Single certificate are required for marriage registration in Sri Lanka. So, you'd better contact your local Registrar General's Department for more details.

Hey Aiden, Many Thanks for your reply. My girlfriend is living with me in UK. we decided to fly from UK directly to srilanka, So I can get the single certificate from Srilanka as am srilankan. She cant get single certificate from china as she is not flying to china.  Is that a must that she should posess single certificate if so can we get that from Chinese embassy in srilanka?. Dear Kevin, as I said above, you'd better contact your local civil affairs office for detailed requirements. To my knowledge, she should get this single status certificate in China from the police station where she registered her Hukou. Chinese embassy have no right to issue this document.
