About:China Customs Declaration

Bringing camera into China

I am traveling to China in October from USA. You answered a question from India saying if a camera is brought into China the person will have to pay tax. How much tax will have to be paid for traveling with a camera? Can I bring my American phone and use that as a camera, or will I have to pay tax on that also?

According to the documents, you need to pay the duty for the camera you take into China. But it is just for people who buy the cameras from foreign countries.
But generally speaking, if you take a old one or a used one as your personal item, you just need to declare without paying the duty. So do not worry about it. And also you can take your phones with you into China.
Hope you can have a nice trip in China.
