48h in shanghai - does a Belgian citizen need a visa ?

Hello,

I checked on the Belgian china embassy's website and I saw that it is allowed to travel to shanghai for some nationalities if the trip is 48 hours or less. I'm currently studying in South Korea and would like to visit shanghai. But unfortunately I do not have more than 6 months on my alien registration card.

My question is, am I eligible for a single entry in shanghai if for a stay under 48 hours or is it just for a transit situation ( meaning I wouldn't be able to leave the airport ? ).

And if yes,mis there any specific requirement ?

If you hold Belgium passport, you are not required visa to transit in Shanghai if the stopover is less than 48 hours with onward flight ticket. You can go out of the airport to the city.
