I was told to go to Tanggu from Beijing, then by taxi to the International Cruise Home Port in Tianjin. On further checking I can't find trains to Tanggu. Is this correct or do I go directly by train to Tianjin. Also is it possible to purchase the tickets in the vending machines at the South station

As far as I know, the best and convenient way is to take the bullet trains from Beijing South Railway Station to Tianjin Railway Station and then take a taxi to reach the Shiyijing Road Station of the Light Train. Taking the light train from this station to reach the Civil Center Station and then take a taxi to reach the port.
