About:China Visa

Visa requirement.

My daughter will be flying to Australia in November with China Eastern airlines and there is a scheduled stop in Shanghai before she catches a connecting flight to Sydney. She will not be leaving the airport but will be there for about 2 hours. On her return she will also stop in Shanghai and this time will stay in the city. Does she need a double entry visa or will a single entry visa be enough?

Many thanks Kevin Wilde

May I know what passport does your daughter hold? UK passport? If yes, she need to apply for a transit visa in advance for her retun from Australia to UK if she will leave the airport. No visa is required for the 2-hour stop in the airport on her way to Sydney. A single entry China visa is enough.
