yes I suppose because I was told the process is bit different for HK than the Chinese visa itself.Since I dont live in city area it's hard for me to get there anytime. So i would like to prepare all the documents before i take day off and go to the nearest consulate office. Also after I get HK visit visa, do I need to apply for Chinese visa if I want to visit other cities of China?

That is true you can not apply for a China visa in HK. You can submit your visa application to the embassy or consulate in Australia according to the city you reside. Check the consular districts first for this. With China tourist visa L, you can visit other cities in Mainland China except Tibet. And keep in mind that leaving for HK and Macao from mainland China counts an exit. So, apply for visa entries according to your travel itinerary.

I would like to apply visit visa for HKSAR or China L visa in HK if that is the right term.Since I'm holding Nepalese passport even though I'm a permanent residence of Australia I can't get visa free entry in China or HK. So I just want to make sure what is the visa procedure for that including documents to be presented. Thank you very much.

For both Hk visa and China visa, you need to provide your Nepali passport that should has over 6 months validity and more than two blank pages left, the correct vis aapplication form that should be correctly and fully filled, two-way air ticket, financial proof and confirmed hotel bookings. Maybe you can get more from the official website of the China Embassy in Australia http://au.china-embassy.org/eng/ls/
