About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

Can I get visa on arrival at Chengdu Airport for 1 week stay?

I go to Chengdu and Zhangjiajie for 1 week for tourism. I am an Australian citizen (passport holder) currently living in Sri Lanka. I read that "prearranged visa on arrival" can be obtained for Australians. Do I need to apply for Chinese visa at Chinese embassy in Sri Lanka before my departure, and if not, what is the procedure of getting prearranged visa on arrival?

You will need to get your visa from the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka...there is currently a trial in Shanghai and Beijing to be granted a three day visa on arrival in those cities only - that I am aware of.

Yes, agree with Az, you need to apply for a China visa in advance. Visas on arrival for Shenzhen or Zhuhai SEZ are available for you, but it can not be used to visit other cities in mainland China.
