About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

Applying for an X visa within China

I am currently in Hangzhou and will be attending a university here in the fall. I have to apply for an X visa. The visa I am on now is an F visa valid until a week into August. Can I apply for the visa in Hangzhou or need I go somewhere else? Also what will I need to bring with me?

You can try to apply for a new student visa in Hangzhou. Personally, I think there is the possibility if your school is willing to help you. If failed to do it in mainland China, you may change to Hk for a try.
