Jinshanling hiking

I know the walk from Jinshanling to Simatai is closed. But is it possible to walk on the Wall at Jinshanling? How many kilometers are able to hike? We are at beginning of August in Beijing. And this part of the Wall was suggested from friends.

Thanky for your support!

Yes, you can go hiking from Jinshanling to Simatai on the Wall. A special ticket office at Jinshanling is arranged for the tourists like you. The whole journey ia about 10 km. And it could be more pleasant to hike with friends.

We went there in June. It's completely open. We took a van from Beijing, but the bus is almost certainly less expensive. The hawkers will follow you along the wall, but there aren't that many of them, and it's very uncrowded.

We had good weather in June, not too hot. August will be hot. Bring 4 liters of water per person.

Here I am climbing the wall at Jinshanling in June 2012 . As you can see, there are very few people around. Quite a contrast from past trips when I went to Badaling, which is crazy crowded and commercialized.
