During the warring period of Chu-Han War, Liu Bang was appointed Han Wang by Xiangyu, governing Bashu Area and Hanzhong Area. Later, as Liu Bang established the dynasty, he continued using Han as the name of the new dynasty. Therefore, Han Dynasty is not called Liu Dynasty.
