About:Apply for China Visa in a Third Country

Can I get China Z visa in HK

I am holding a Z visa, but it will soon expire on September 1. Now, my boss told me that they are going to cancel my z visa and change it to tourist visa. Instead of going back to Philippines for my exit, I want to have it in Hongkong. can I apply my z visa there?

I'm just confused. Will your boss renew the contract with you? If so, you can try to apply for a new work visa in Hk. But if your boss won't employ you any more, I don't think you can apply for a new China work visa no matter in Hk or in your home country.

Nope. They want me to renew my contract under their company, but I don't wanna,so I sent my resignation letter. They told me they are going to cancel it and change it to L visa (tourist). I am going to transfer to another school in Beijing ( International School). They are going to give me necessary papers for my visa application. I just want to know If I can apply in HK or I need to go back to Philippines and apply it there? I just want to have my exit in HK, if its possible there, that would be a good news for me.

Normally, foreigners are required to apply for the China work visa in their home country, but your situation seems special, since you are already in China. Then you may go to Hk to have a try. Good luck!

My friend under my current company arrived in China as tourist. My boss then changed his visa to F ( business). He went to HK for his exit and got his Z visa there. As for my case, I came here with Z visa, but my current company wanna change it to tourist. I want to know if it's okay with me to do the same thing as my friend did. Anyways, I have all the necessary papers form the school where I am going to transfer.

If your friend succeed in getting a China work visa in Hk, I think it is also possible for you. The visa policy is changing from time to time. You can have a try. Expect the visa officers in Hk, nobody else can give you an exact answer for this.
