About:Chinese Embassy in Philippines

My daughter has a contract to teach in China and would like to invite her grandma to visit her.

We are from Vancouver, Canada and was planning to invite my mom from the Philippines to meet with us in China for 12 days. She is 76 Y/O and very well fit to travel. We are sending her a letter of invitation and will be paying for her hotel accommodations while in China. When she inquired from a travel agent about the requirements for tourist visa application, a long list of documents was given which I believed will be hard for my mom to complete given the short period of notice that we gave her. We are planning to stay in china for 12 days only from Aug 26, 2012 to Sept. 7, 2012. Can she be spared from other documents required. She has NBI clearance for travel abroad, valid passport and bank statement. Round trip ticket will be provided as well. Can you please consider her application? Thank you.

Yes, it is ok for her to apply for a China tourist visa if she can meet requirements 1 - 4 , as well as the NBI clearance bank statement.

Also, don't forget the invitation letter from your daughter as well as a copy of her passport and residence visa. Scanned copies of the invitation letter are accepted. If you have a copy of the hotel reservation, it is better to send as well.
