About:China Embassy in Thailand

tourist visa application for a conference in Beijing, is it ok?

I want to apply for a tourist visa to visit a conference in Beijing. I am in thailand on a 30 day tourist visa. Can I apply in Bangkok?

You can apply China visa in Bangkok. But for attending conference in China, you'd better apply for a Business visa as required. It is ok to apply for a tourist visa if you do not have time to get an invitation letter from China. Thus, DO Not mention the purpose for conference in the application form.
