How long is the processing time of a Chinese tourist visa?

I already booked my hotel and airfare for September 2012 (they were on sale) and will only apply for my visa this week (or next week at the latest). Will my visa be processed by then? Also, does it help that I have a 10-year US tourist visa? Thanks!
