Generally speaking, the best time for visiting Guilin is from April to November; however, different seasons have different characteristics in Guilin and you can can different surprises in whatever time you travel to Guilin.

I went with some friends in mid-August 2010. It was quite hot, but it was great. We stayed for 3 days and did the river tour and the rice terraces. Both were awesome at this time of year.
