Visa on arival in China for UK citizen

I need to leave for China on 26th June for a meeting with a manufacturer regarding an urgent Christmas order. But I also needs a new passport becasue my existing one is full; not expired. Now there is no time to get a visa before my flight on 26th. I have an email from the factory stating the importance of a meeting on 27th June; can I get a visa on arrival in China?
