Australian applying for visa in Vancouver. Where and how long.

If your route is as what you said: (-Guangzhou- HK-Vancouver), you only used one entry, for you don't need any visa for your trip to Hk. There is no need for you to apply a new visa if your double entry visa is still within the validity.

Thanks for you reply. My Route is Perth -Guangzhou Hong Kong - Guangzhou - Vacncouver - Guangzhou - Perth. so i assume i will use second entry permit returning from Hong Kong to Guangzhou and then need to reapply in Vancouver for a single enrty for the stop over on the way back to Perth.

Yes, you are right. You do need a new visa to transit Guangzhou. Guessing from your words, you are now in HKJ, right? You can apply in HK at the Office of the Commission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of P.R.C. Prepare the following documents:
1.Valid passport (at least six months before expiration) with at least two blank visa pages left and under good condition.
2. Completed Chinese visa application form A and B with clean and tidy hand-writting, one colored passport photo taken in the last six months.

Thanks Melissa, no still in Perth leaving June 29 - Guangzhou - HK Fri night to Sun leave back to Guangzhou for Vancouver Mon am. so i can't get another visa in HK. therefore getting back to my original question can i get another visa when i arrive in Vancouver before 10am July 3 if i get into visa office at 9am.

Actually visa to be done within an hour is not possible in Vancouver. Why not try to apply a new multiple entry visa in Perth? Since you leave on June 29, there is still plenty of time.
