Do I need visa if I will transit in Guangzhou Baiyun CAN airport for 17 hours?

I arrive in Guangzhou on the 21st and Depart the next morning at 9am. The transit time is 17 hours and i do not want to leave the airport. Do i need to obtain a visa??
