Question About Length of Residence Permit

Hi There
My question is:
When I receive my residence permit to china, if I am employed for one year, will the permit be one year even if I get it one month into my employment? Or will it be 11 months?

(For example if i am working from june 1st2012 - june 1 2013
And i recieve my permit on July 1st, is the permit valid from July 2012-July 2013 or July 2012 -June 2013?

I know this is a really technical question but i need my permit to be one year duration, so I hope you can help!
