22 hour stop over in Shanghai

Hi, we are an Australian family of 4 and intend to fly from Tokyo to Delhi with China Eastern Airlines and there is a 22 hour stop in Shanghai. By reading your information, it looks like we do not require a visa for this stop over, can you please confirm?
Thankyou

Yeah, Australian citizens are allowed to transit Shanghai Pudong/ Hongqiao airport for less than 48 hours, provided thay have valid passports, visas for the onward countries, final destination tickets.

Thanks Carl
By what you are saying, we don't need to apply for any visa/permit before we arrive at the Shanghai airport to exit the airport and stay overnight (22 hour stopover), we only require an onward ticket with relevant visas?
Thanks
